8th grade graduation test for social studies?

My brother is in 8th grade im in 7th. He says that theres a constitution test you have to take and every american kid takes it. He says if you fail it you have to repeat all your classes even the ones you did good in. I was wondering if this was true? I'm 90% true he is wrong. I don't think they would make me re-do my other classes. I love social studies anyways. Just curious
