Army corrective training Essay limits.?
Ok I hate being a the barracks lawyer, but here is what I would do. I would do my very best to write the 35000 words. If unable to finish to my NCO's satisfaction and he assigned me 70000 words to write I would then do my very best to accomplish that. If I am unable to complete task he would either have to drop it, or elevate the punishment to a higher level. If he tried to push for Article 15 NJP he would have to involve his superiors. By having him bring his superiors in to the situation it will relieve you of being called a whiner or accused of bypassing the chain of command. And as long as you made every effort to accomplish the assigned task, even if unable to complete it it is highly unlikely anyone will look down on you. Once his superiors are involved they will be able to rule on whether or not the punishment was appropriate. In my opinion though, sometimes you have to be given an impossible task to see the error of your ways and to learn how you will react when facing the no win situation. I know a Marine who was tasked with digging a regulation fighting hole on the beach in the water. After two days of digging and still not getting it right his NCO finally let him go. But he learned the value of instant and willing obedience to all orders. I miss the "Old Corps..."
